bunnies are burrowing in my backyard; i thought they were rats. they are the size of my cell phone. how long?
how long til i can hold them?
the nest is surfacing.
so there is no possibility of me being able to keep them as a pet?
It sounds like these are cottontails (wild) not domestic rabbits. The best thing to do is leave them alone. the Momma rabbit will only feed them once/day; she doesn’t want to call attention to the nest.
Don’t touch them at all; they’ll be fine.
If you are sure they are orphans, best thing is to fine a wildlife rehabilitator or try Animal Control.
